Monotrate 60 Mg Tablet SR contains Isosorbide Mononitrate, a long-acting nitrate that helps widen and relax blood vessels. This reduces the heart’s workload and improves oxygen delivery to the heart muscle, preventing chest pain (angina) in patients with coronary artery disease.

Each sustained release tablet contains:

Side Effect:

Headache (common, often improves with continued use)

Dizziness or lightheadedness, especially on standing

Nausea or flushing

Rarely, low blood pressure causing fainting
Safety Advice:

Take at the same time daily, usually on an empty stomach or as advised.

Rise slowly from sitting or lying position to avoid dizziness.

Avoid alcohol which can increase the risk of low blood pressure.

Not meant for relief of acute chest pain attacks (use sublingual nitrates for that).
