BCG I.P Vaccine is a live attenuated vaccine derived from Mycobacterium bovis used to protect against tuberculosis (TB). Side Effects

Mild swelling or small sore at injection site, which may develop into a small ulcer and heal over weeks leaving a scar (normal)

Rarely, enlarged lymph nodes near the injection area

Very rarely, serious allergic reactions (immediate medical help needed if breathing difficulty or severe swelling occurs)
Safety Advice

Given by a trained healthcare professional, usually as an intradermal injection in the upper arm.

Not given to individuals with weakened immune systems (like untreated HIV or certain cancers) unless advised by a specialist.

Ensure the child has no skin infections at the injection site before administration.
